The loop where each element restrains another: Wood parts Earth, Earth blocks Water, Water quenches Fire, Fire melts Metal, Metal cuts Wood.

Control is pressure, not destruction. An element that controls your day master applies force to you — traditionally read as authority, obligation, rules and rivals. An element your day master controls is what you can act on: traditionally, wealth and resources.

A chart with no control in it anywhere is not peaceful. It is usually unstructured.
