Missing Element

An element that appears nowhere in your chart — usually the thing you spend your life reaching for.

Most charts are missing at least one of the five. Having all five present is less common than people expect, and is not automatically better.

The traditional reading is that an absent element is not a deficiency to be corrected but an appetite that organises a life. People tend to seek their missing element in the people they choose, the work they take and the places they move to — and tend to be surprised that acquiring it does not settle the hunger.
