How to actually get your Saju read in English

To get a Saju reading in English, first choose the format: a live English-speaking practitioner, a session with an interpreter, or a written report. Then confirm who provides the explanation, what is included and how the service handles your birth details. An English booking page does not answer all those questions.

You can also begin with a chart and study its labels yourself. The best starting point depends on whether you want a conversation, an introduction to the tradition or a report to read at your own pace.

Confirm the language of the actual session

Visit Seoul’s visitor guide describes a fortune-telling cafe offering interpretation for tourists. This documents one visitor-facing format; it does not establish every venue’s current staffing, price or language availability. Confirm those details directly before booking or traveling.

Ask whether the practitioner speaks English, whether an interpreter joins, or whether you receive a translated document later. If there is an interpreter, ask whether the appointment length includes translation and whether you can ask follow-up questions in English.

In Pew’s 2023 survey, 38% of South Korean adults reported having their fortune told in the previous year. Pew’s report covers fortunetelling broadly, not Saju alone, English-language access or reader quality. It gives cultural context, not a reason to assume any particular service is suitable.

Questions to ask before paying

These are questions to resolve, not promises that all services provide the same terms. A brief sample can help you assess whether the English is understandable, but it cannot establish predictive accuracy.

Bring an input note, not an invented exact time

Record the birth date, the calendar in which it was recorded, the birthplace and the local clock time you know. Add the source of the time and any uncertainty. Ask the provider to explain conversions rather than silently changing the time yourself.

Keep questions open during the reading

You can say, “That description does not fit my experience; which feature are you interpreting?” A useful explanation should leave room for that response. Keep your own observations alongside the reading, and decide afterward which questions are worth exploring further.

A booking message that settles the practical details

An original message you can adapt is: “I would like a Saju reading in English about __. Is the consultation itself in English, or is an interpreter involved? Is it live, recorded or written? Please confirm the full price, duration, required birth information and whether I can ask follow-up questions.”

Add any uncertainty before booking: “My birth time is a family estimate between __ and __.” Ask whether that changes what the provider can offer. A translated booking page does not establish that every part of the service is delivered in English.
